MARY AILENE STRUNK

April 23, 1936 — April 12, 2013

Mary Ailene (Duncan) Strunk, age 76, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 15, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. David Troxell officiating. She was laid to rest at the Silerville Cemetery.

Mary was born in Junction City, Kentucky on April 23, 1936, to the late Sherman and Sylvania (King) Duncan. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by twin sons Ronnie and Donnie Austin, sisters; Geneva Duncan, Maxine Hooks and Verline Peak and brothers Arvile, Oliver "Bud" and Theodore Duncan.

Surviving family include five daughters; Kenna Cole (and Charlie), Pine Knot, Sheila Cornett (and Ova) Moscow, Ohio; Sharon Musgrove, Strunk; Tammy Kegebein, Rome, New York; and Stacie Whitehead (and Tim), Stearns. She has one surviving brother, Herman Duncan (and Imogene). She was blessed with 11 grandchildren: Chris, Nicole, Lucian, Sheena, Kyle, Brittany, Jennifer, Jessica, Montana, T.J. and Justus, and 12 great grandchildren; Mikey, Halle, Garrett, Nicholas, Ryan, Sam, Caleb, Abby, Addy, Anthony, Hayden and Mayson. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and a host of friends including special friends Jack and Charlotte Wilson.

Mary was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Baptist Church. She had worked as a therapy assistant at Huntsville Manor Nursing Home and had been a CNA for Lifeline. Before moving back to McCreary County, she lived in Cincinnati and worked at a plastic molding factory in quality control for over 11 years.

Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
