MILDRED IRENE STRUNK CHITWOOD

Mrs. Mildred Chitwood, age 92, of Danville, formerly of Pine Knot, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at her home in Danville.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stith Funeral Home in Danville, Kentucky, and at 4:00 p.m. Monday at Pine Knot Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Pine Knot Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Sunday at Stith Funeral Home and from 2:00 a€" 4:00 p.m. on Monday at Pine Knot Funeral Home.

Born June 6, 1914, in Pine Knot, KY, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Ollie Spencer Strunk. She was a teacher in the McCreary County and Danville Independent School Systems and a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include a son John C. Chitwood, a son-in-law, Charles E. Thomas, four grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
