NOAH STEPHENS, JR

Noah Stephens, Jr. age 77, of Pine Knot, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

Graveside Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the East Pine Knot Memorial Gardens with the Honorable Doug Stephens officiating. Visitation will be Sunday evening after 6:00 at Pine Knot Funeral Home.

Mr. Stephens was born in McCreary County, Kentucky, on February 8, 1936, to the late Noah Stephens, Sr. and Artie (Lay) Stephens. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers; Dennis, Claude and Clyde "Abe" Stephens, five sisters; Rosella Murphy, Mary Egnor, Beulah Stephens, Blanche Stephens and Betty Jo Stephens, and his ex-wife and mother of his children Sandy Boyatt Jackson.

Surviving family include his wife Fredia (Yancey) Stephens, whom he married January 7, 1970, two sons; Anthony Leon Stephens (and wife Marilyn) of Pine Knot, and James K. Stephens of Pine Knot, and a daughter Rhonda Ann Stephens also of Pine Knot. He has four grandchildren; Eric and Tyrus Chambers, Bradley Maness and Noah James Stephens. A brother James Calvin Stephens of Lake City, Fl. sisters Orangalee Spradlin, Doris Perry, Lois Reeves, and Molly Thompson of Pine Knot, Ky. also survive.

Noah was a retired truck driver having trucked since the age of 13. He had also been a heavy equipment operator. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran and he enjoyed people and visiting with his friends.
