Norman "Ted" Ridner

Norman Lincoln “Ted” Ridner, age 70 of Parkers Lake, passed away on Tuesday March 10, 2015 at his home.

Services will be held on Thursday March 12, 2015 at 2pm in the chapel of the Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Doyle “Boone” Perry and Rev. Jeff Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 11, 2015 after 6pm at the pine Knot Funeral Home.

He was born in McCreary County on January 9, 1945. He was the son of the late Estle and Nola Hicks Ridner. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of forty three years Phyllis (Owens) Ridner whom he married May 13, 1967, a daughter Melissa Lynn Ridner and three brothers, Ben, Denny, and Finley Ridner and a sister Flossie Ridner Swain.

Survivors include his son, Douglas “Dougen” Ridner and wife Melissa of Parkers Lake, a daughter Nancy Smith and husband Shawn of Louisville, Kentucky, three brothers Leester, Mike Ridner and Doyle “Boone” Perry all of Parkers Lake, and three sisters Roxie Mitchell, Mossie Goins, and Wilma Bennett all three of Parkers Lake. He also has three grandsons Kyle Ridner and wife Kayla, Devon and Bryson Ridener all three of Parkers Lake, one granddaughter Keshia Hurd and husband Charles “Chucky” Hurd, and one great grandson.

Ted was the owner and operator of Ridner Coal Mining and Ridner Logging. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the simple things of life. His greatest passion and hobby was working. Ted was of the Baptist faith.
