NORMAN GENE STRUNK

Mr. Norman Gene Strunk, age 80 of Murphy Subdivision Road., passed away Friday December 6, 2013, at his home in Stearns, Kentucky.

A special memorial service was held on Monday, December 9, 2013, at the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church at 3:00 p.m.

Mr. Strunk was a retired school teacher from the McCreary County Schools, he was a member of the teachers retirement association, and the Masonic lodge. He had a great love for family history, literature, writing, spending time with his grandchildren, working outdoors, coaching and playing golf. He loved spending time at his cabin and in the past year, he found peace and comfort at his church, the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God.

He was born in Barthel, Kentucky, on October 31, 1933 to the late Jess and Marie (Edwards) Strunk. His parents precede him in death as well as his wife Wilma Ruth Manning Strunk and a brother Gorman Strunk.

Survivors include daughters Rebecca (and husband Mike) Christian of Carthage, Tennessee, Laura Strunk, Houston, Texas, sister Shirley Ramsey, grandson Samuel (and Nicole) Kidd, Thomas (and Dara) Kidd, James Kidd and Daniel Bailiff, granddaughters Sarah Bailiff and Melody Bailiff.

Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
