Rachel Darlene Bryant

Rachel Bryant age 68, wife of Dillard Bryant, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was born March 19, 1950 in McCreary County, Kentucky to the late Dow Ridner and Alpha (Perry) Ridner. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Richard “Pete” and Dewey Ridner, sisters, Betty Fuller, Faye Whitaker, and Josie Gosnell, and a great-granddaughter, Raelynn.

Surviving family include her husband, Dillard Bryant whom she married August 3, 1968; a son, Estle Bryant (Gabriella) of Pine Knot; a daughter, Karen King (Lloyd) of Pine Knot; brothers, Darrell Leo Ridner (Geraldine) and John Ridner (Faye) all of Whitley City; a sister, Mary Cox of Pine Knot; grandchildren, Tyler, Mackenzie, Madison, Saralyn, and Tyler; and great-grandchildren, Maverick and Abel.

Rachel was a member of Pine Knot United Baptist Church but years early had been a member of the New Liberty United Baptist Church. In past time she had worked at the shirt factory as well as OVC. Rachel enjoyed singing gospel and sewing.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the New Liberty Baptist Church with Bro. Dow Goodin and Bro. John Goodin officiating. Burial is to follow in the New Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at the Pine Knot Funeral Home. Rachel will lie in state at the church on Sunday from 1:00 pm until service time.
