Richard Lee Wood

Richard Lee Wood age 77 of Strunk, Kentucky, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, passed from this life on Friday, May 26, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born on October 14, 1939 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Samuel Francis Wood and Verla (Wilcoxon) Wood.  Richard was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his children,grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wood is preceded in death by a daughter, Sonja Diane Wood Agee, a brother, and two sisters.

Surviving family include his wife of 58 years, Patricia Ann (Ross) Wood of Strunk, Kentucky; children, Brian David Wood and wife, Beverly of Dayton, OH, Richard Michael Wood and wife, Deborah of Wilmington, OH, Franklin Ross Wood and wife, Tammy of Xenia, OH, and Dawn Lee Wood and fiancé, Jimmy King of Oneida, TN; a son-in-law, Clyde Agee of Asheville, North Carolina; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 29, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Darrin Ross officiating. Burial to follow in the Pine Knot Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday after 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.
