Shawn Michael Helton, age 34, of Pine Knot, Kentucky,  passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015,  at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Born in Oneida, Tennessee, on August 27, 1981, he was the son of Tammy (Soard) and John Helton.

Surviving family include his parents, a son, Sean Ray Helton, step-children: Raven, Jackson and Keegan Helton, brothers: Jack Helton of Whitley City, Jason King of Somerset, Kentucky, Joni Helton of Pine Knot, Hailey Swain of Parkers Lake, grandparents: James and Katherine Soard, Patricia Helton (James Ray Helton deceased). 

Shawn has a special niece, Peyton Helton, nephews: Josiah and Leland Helton, cousins: Cain Jones, Josh Jones, Jake Helton, Katie Lay and the Yancey girls and many other family and friends.  He also had special friends and nurses at the UK Hospital, Janice Parks and Regina Campbell.

Shawn was a member of the Whitley City Church of God. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, and four-wheeling.  He enjoyed Nascar; Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver.  He had unique talents such as making knives and cooking.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his son.  He loved children and they loved him.  Everyone loved Shawn and had several mothers that considered him as their own son.  He will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Visitation:  Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
