Shirley M. Rowe

Shirley M. Rowe, age 72, of Stearns, Kentucky, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

Born in Oneida, Tennessee, on August 12, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Garfield and Gladys (King) Deaton.  Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Gene Rowe,son-in-law James Dobbs and an infant brother.

Surviving family include three sons; Mickey R. Blair (and Cheryl) of Stearns, Kentucky, Morris L. Blair (and Sandra) of Atlanta, Georgia, Timothy G. Rowe (and Sandy) of Smithtown, Kentucky, three daughters; Linda E. Dobbs, Stearns, Kentucky, Mary E. Dalton (and Norman Earnest) of Eubank, Kentucky, and Crystal L. Dalton (and Linville L.) of Eubank, 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She had been a seamstress with American Bag Company and a member of the South Pine Knot Church of God.  Shirley enjoyed sewing, crafts, art work and taking care of the grandchildren.  She was constantly concerned with the welfare of other people.

Rev. Cyrus Byrd and Rev. Linville Dalton conducted the funeral services Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home followed by burial in the Pine Knot Cemetery.
