Sonya Lynn Stephens-Klinowski, age 47, of Glendale Heights, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at her home.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 27, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Crabtree officiating. She will be laid to rest at the McCreary Memorial Gardens in Whitley City, Kentucky. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born November 9, 1963, she is the daughter of Bill and Patricia "Pat" Stephens of Las Vegas, Nevada and the late Freda Warman Stephens. She is the mother of Miranda Boothe of Glendale Heights, Illinois and grandmother of Kaileanne Laursen age 5 and Jocelyn Hill age 6 months. She is the sister of Pamela (and husband Eric) Spengler of Longmont, Colorado. Besides her mother, she is preceded in death by two brothers David and Parnell Stephens.

Sonya worked in sales for Beckler Logistics and enjoyed jet skiing and top fuel drag racing. She was an avid cat lover and had a cat named April whom she called her "soul kitty"

I have worked with Sonya over the past year. She was funny, supportive and easy to talk with. I called her "Lasagna" because she once told me that it was Sonya as in Lasagna and she called me LOU 111. I will miss her.
