Tod Spradlin

Tod Spradlin age 81 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Friday, August 28, 2026 at his home. 

He was born on January 5, 1945 in Barthel, Kentucky to the late Fred Spradlin and Flossie (Waters) Spradlin. 

In addition to his parents, Tod is preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Orangalee (Stephens) Spradlin; a grandson, Noah Spradlin; a step-son, Larry Taylor; his brothers, Lowell Buster Spradlin, Elmon Spradlin, Inman Spradlin, and Bob Spradlin; and sisters, Floria Cox, Mildred Daugherty, Janice Ross, Dorothy Musgrove, Ora Bowman, and Judy Spradlin. 

Surviving family include his sons, Gary Scott Spradlin (and Shari) and Barry Shannon Spradlin; a step-granddaughter, Amanda Renfro (and Joey; a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Lynn Spradlin and step-greatgrandchildren, Kyle Griffis, Sean Taylor, and Allyson Taylor; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

Tod spent the majority of his life working, starting young in the coal mines and later retiring from trucking, which he loved. He devoted over 30 years to the highway, driving for Dixie Transport, a proud member of Teamsters, and several other haulers. He loved traveling, especially out west. Once he did slow his pace from trucking, he didn't let the dust settle much under his feet. He always enjoyed going out to car shows, attending country music events, fishing, and taking late night drives. Tod loved his family, most especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.  

Per his wishes, Tod was cremated. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at the Lower Cal Hill Cemetery with Bro. Doug Stephens officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that in memory of Tod, you donate to a charity of your choice.
