TOMMY RAY FOSTER

Tommy Ray Foster, age 63, of Stearns, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Sammy Vaughn officiating. Burial will be at the Nancy Graves Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening after 6:00 at the funeral home.

Born September 2, 1949, he was the son of the late Raymond James and Emma (Hill) Foster. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Wilma Roberts. He was a beloved brother to sisters Freda Foster of Revelo and Wilda Bryant of Marshes Siding and loving uncle and grandfather figure to Merle, Wade, Mikey, Scotty, Melissa, Brandon, Matt, Emily, and 16 great nieces and nephews.

He went through medical training to be a caregiver to his mother. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, traveling and westerns (favorite was Bonanza). He had a green thumb and could make anything grow. He was a unique individual and will be greatly missed for his ability to recall dates and events. With his photographic memory, he was able to tutor his niece through college history. He was a friend to many and offered a safe haven to all the family. His greatest pleasure was family gatherings where his used his wonderful sense of humor to make people laugh.
