VERALENE SWAIN

Mrs. Veralene Swain, age 76 of Stearns, passed away on Friday August 24, 2012 at Physicians Regional Hospital in Knoxville, TN.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Waters Cemetery at Bald Knob. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-9 at the funeral home.

She was born at Bald Knob on February 21, 1936 to the late Oscar and Rosetta Troxell Cooper. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother, Carl Denton Cooper, a half brother Claude Cooper and a half sister, Audrey Coy. A grand daughter also preceeds her in death.

Survivors include her husband Herstle Swain, who she married October 4, 1952. A son, Ricky Swain and his wife Monika of Mt. Holly, NJ, and a daughter, Vivian Maxwell of Stearns. She has 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren also surviving.

Mrs. Swain was a homemaker and a member of the Second Baptist Church. She enjoyed flowers, plants and most of all her grandchildren
