Wanda Keith

Wanda Faye Holloway Keith 85, of Lexington KY and formerly of Pine Knot, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2025. She was born in Whitley City, Kentucky on April 18, 1940, to Clifford Archie and Chloe Effie Holloway.

Wanda Faye accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior after attending a revival on Day Ridge Rd, Kentucky when she was 17 years old. She received her GED after turning 32. With 5 children and an ailing husband, she started back to school at Cumberland College where she graduated summa cum laude on May 13, 1978. She later completed her Masters and Rank 1 in Education at Eastern Kentucky University. She served as a teacher for the McCreary County School Board primarily at Pine Knot Elementary School until she retired. Although she accomplished much in life, her biggest contribution was the many hours she labored in prayer for countless people.

Throughout the years she was active in her community as a women’s shelter provider and God’s Food Pantry assistant. She was devoted to her local church, The City of Refuge, Stearns, KY and was part of Trinity Christian Fellowship in Lexington KY at the time of her passing.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Clifford & Chloe Effie Holloway, her husband, Kelley Auston Keith Sr., her son, Kelly Auston Keith Jr. (Junebug), her sister, Doris Nolte, her brothers Charles Holloway and Danny K Holloway, and her in-laws Walter & Dora Keith.

Wanda Faye is survived by her children: Kathy Keith, Shannon (Chad) Grissom, Brandy Jones and Natashia (Kyle) Vogel all of Lexington, KY, Logan Dale (Betty) Keith of Pine Knot KY and David (Carol) Keith and Sandra Keith of Floresville, TX. She was also survived by two brothers Gene (Teresa) Holloway, Morris Lee Holloway, both of Ohio and a brother- in-law Coy Keith of Corbin, KY. Wanda loved her surviving 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Wanda is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

She loved us, and we loved her. Although she is absent from body, we know she is present with the Lord.

Funeral Service to be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 10:00am with Pastor Chad Grissom officiating at the Anchor Baptist Church, 3601 Winthrop Dr., Lexington, KY 40514.

Wanda will be laid to rest on Tuesday following her funeral service at the Keith-Morrow Cemetery at 3:00 pm. The cemetery is located on Day Ridge Road at 100 Marshall Keith Rd, Whitley City, KY 42653.
